Virgin Mary and Mary Magdalene
According to tradition, Virgin Mary offered a basket with eggs to the Roman guards of her son, Jesus Christ. Virgin Mary begged them to treat her son well. When she started crying, her tears dyed the eggs red. Furthermore, Mary Magdalene carried a basket of white eggs when she met Tiberius, the Roman Emperor after Pontius Pilatus. Tiberius did not believe that Jesus Christ was resurrected three days after his death and that he performed miracles. He told Maria Magdalene: “If the white eggs turn to red eggs, I will believe”. Finally, the eggs turned red and Tiberius said: “Truly, he is Risen”.
