Christmas means..
Christmas is coming soon. In some days we will celebrate the birth of the infant Jesus. The Virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus Chris, who was born to save all people. Christmas is the favorite celebration of kids, teenagers and elderly people. Christmas is the celebration of love. Everybody feels like a child. People all around the world follow Christmas traditions and customs.
Christmas and consumerism
Offering gifts to the members of our family, to relatives and best friends is a Christmas habit. We buy any kind of gifts, such as clothes and accessories, Christmas ornaments and jewelry and we give them to our beloved ones on the Christmas Day. In Greece it is a tradition for Greeks to offer handmade sweets to relatives and friends, too. However, Christmas is not just spending money on food and gifts.
The real meaning of Christmas
It is important for children to learn to love Christmas for their real meaning. Parents and teachers should discuss what we celebrate at Christmas day. Christmas gives the opportunity to everybody to purify his heart from passions and to love each other.
