Reasons why September is ideal for holidays

September is indeed a very good month for holidays for two basic reasons. The first is that the prices for the air tickets and for the hotel reservations are low. If you book them a lot of days or months before your trip, they will be very cheap. A second reason is that the islands are not as busy as they are during the summer season. If you want to spend cool holidays, September is a very good month.

How can you spend your day?

Going for breakfast at a coffee shop by the sea is a great idea. Otherwise, if you stay in a hotel, you can have breakfast at your hotel room or the hotel breakfast room. After breakfast, visiting an archaeological site or a museum is a great choice. There are a lot of sites and museums in all the Greek islands. You can either find a tour guide online or arrange your tour with the guide who works at the site or the museum. After your visit to the archaeological site or the museum, why not go to the sea. Swimming and sunbathing will be the best you can do. During September, the weather is still warm and most organized beaches with sun beds and beach bars are still open. Having lunch at a Greek fish restaurant or a tavern by the sea is the best you can do after swimming. You can enjoy delicious fresh fish dishes, traditional Greek recipes and drink local wine.

How can you spend your afternoon and night?

You can enjoy sunset and take pictures. Go to a romantic place where you can see the sun falling into the sea. The orange and reddish colors of the sun are wonderful. After the sunset, it would be nice to go shopping in the center of the island. You will find souvenir shops from where you can buy lots of souvenirs for your family and your friends. As for your night life, you can have dinner at a tavern or a restaurant by the sea and then enjoy your drink at a bar to the ”Chora”, the main town of the island.
